The Bangladesh Embassy in Poland celebrated the Great Victory Day 2024 with due dignity and solemnity at the embassy premises. The day’s programme began with the hoisting of the national flag by Kazi Muntasir Murshed, Minister and Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy, in the presence of embassy officials and employees.

The second segment of the event featured readings from the holy scriptures, followed by a gathering attended by members of the Bangladeshi community in Poland and prominent Polish dignitaries. Messages from the President, Chief Advisor, and Foreign Advisor of Bangladesh, issued on the occasion of Victory Day, were read out. A documentary provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was also shared with the guests.
A discussion was held on the significance of Victory Day, where speakers paid deep respect to the sacrifices of the valiant freedom fighters and the two lakh mothers and sisters who suffered during the Liberation War. The speakers also highlighted the importance of upholding the values of Victory Day, even while living abroad.

In his address, Kazi Muntasir Murshed urged the younger generation to embrace the lessons of Victory Day and preserve its legacy. He called on expatriate Bangladeshis to educate their children about Bangladesh's rich culture and history. Additionally, he encouraged the community to support the interim government formed through the people’s uprising and to strengthen the economy by sending remittances through legal channels.

As part of the Victory Day celebrations, the Bangladesh Embassy, in collaboration with the Warsaw City Corporation and the Department of City and Road Authority, illuminated the Silesian–Dąbrowa Bridge over the Vistula River in Warsaw. The bridge was adorned with the colours of the Bangladesh national flag from 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM on December 16. The Charge d'Affaires invited all attendees to visit the illuminated bridge after the prayer and reception.

The event concluded with a minute of silence and a special prayer for the souls of the martyred freedom fighters and war-wounded heroes of the Liberation War. Guests were later treated to a dinner featuring traditional Bangladeshi cuisine, marking the end of the day’s formalities.
