The much-anticipated Barishal Samity Jatiya Para Cricket-2025 is going to be begun from February 17 this month, with the participation of 7 teams with physical disabilities from different parts of country.
To make it a success, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed yesterday between Barishal Zila Samity, Dhaka and National Paralympic Committee of Bangladesh at National Sports Council in the city.
As per the deal, under the patronage of the Barishal Zila Samity and the technical support of the National Paralympic Committee of Bangladesh, several tournaments for people with disabilities will be organized this year.
The tournaments will include Para Cricket, Para Badminton, Para Table Tennis, and Chess. In addition, training will be provided to athletes and coaches. The MoU also outlines that the Paralympic Committee will assist Barishal Samity in establishing a special school for people with disabilities in Dhaka.
In presence of Chief Parton of Barisal Samity and Chairman of Khansons Group A K M Azizur Rahman, the MoU was signed by Abu Bakar Siddique Sohel, General Secretary of the Barishal Samity, and Engineer Md. Maksudur Rahman, General Secretary of the National Paralympic, on behalf of their respective organizations.
Dr. Enayet Karim, President of the Barishal Zila Samity and President of the Global Development Bank, and Professor Dr. Sheikh Abdus Salam, Acting President of the National Paralympic Committee and Vice-Chancellor of Islamic University, Kushtia, were present at the signing ceremony.
Barishal Samity Vice Presidents Advocate Abdul Latif, M. Zahirul Alam Iqbal, ABM Mohiuddin Khan Chowdhury, Md. Moniruzzaman Shaheen, Enayet Hossain Babul, Office Secretary Advocate Mamunur Rashid, and Treasurer Md. Hafizur Rahman, among others, were present on the occasion.
