Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (Ansar-VDP) has sought the support of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system as part of its ongoing digital transformation initiative.

The request was made by Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud, during a courtesy meeting with Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Fakir Mahbub Anam, MP, on Monday.

During the meeting, the Director General outlined the force's digital transformation roadmap and highlighted how its integrated digital platforms are contributing to administrative efficiency, transparency, accountability and the socio-economic development of grassroots communities.

He presented the core features of the Ansar VDP Enterprise Resource Planning (AVERP) system and explained how various interconnected smart platforms—including AVMIS, APMIS, EMIS, AVJOBS, TRGMS, CRM, STDMS, IADMS, and AVSSO—are being used to manage human resources, training, deployment, allowance distribution, public services, operational activities, employment and entrepreneurship programmes through a unified digital management framework.

The Director General said the force's database, covering nearly six million members, along with its growing volume of digital interactions, has created a strong foundation for adopting advanced technologies such as Big Data, Machine Learning (ML), Large Language Models (LLMs), and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

He said the development of an AI-driven automation system and a dedicated LLM trained on the organisation's own data could significantly improve decision-making, skills assessment, training management, employment services and citizen-focused public service delivery.

"The integration of AI into the ERP ecosystem will strengthen transparency, enhance operational efficiency and enable data-driven governance," he said.

Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam described the initiative as timely, innovative and future-oriented. Recognising its potential impact on millions of people connected with the force, he assured the ministry's cooperation and directed officials to arrange a special coordination meeting involving relevant government stakeholders to assess the project's feasibility and facilitate its implementation.

According to experts, integrating AI and LLM technologies into the existing digital infrastructure of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP could not only improve the organisation's administrative efficiency but also serve as a national model for evidence-based decision-making, human resource development, employment management and the modernisation of public services.

Deputy Director General (Training) Md. Rafiqul Islam and other senior officials of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party were also present during the presentation on the force's digital management system.
