The Bangladesh Ansar-VDP women’s baseball team made history in Selangor, Malaysia, defeating the host national team 10-9 on Friday (August 14) to reach the final of the Malaysia International Women’s Baseball Championship 2026.
It was Bangladesh’s second consecutive international victory. On August 13, the team secured its first-ever international win with a commanding 26-0 victory over Indonesia’s Green Orca Baseball team.
The tournament began on August 12 in Serdang, Selangor. Bangladesh’s successive victories have secured the team a place in an international baseball final for the first time.
The achievement marks a significant milestone for women’s baseball in Bangladesh and has created new opportunities and inspiration for female athletes in the country.
The final is scheduled for August 16, with the Bangladesh team aiming to continue its winning run and bring further success to the national flag.
