A colorful procession and a discussion meeting were held in Barishal to mark the 30th World Egg Day 2026. Observed globally, as well as across the country and in Barishal, the 30th 'World Egg Day' was celebrated with the theme: "Nutrition in eggs, energy in eggs, and disease prevention through eggs."
A colorful procession, organized by the Barishal Divisional Department of Livestock Services, was brought out at 10:30 AM on Friday, October 9. Led by the chief guest, Md. Delwar Hossain—Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock—the procession was attended by Dr. Md. Khaled Kanak (Director General, Department of Fisheries), Md. Mahfuzul Haque (Director, Divisional Livestock Services, Barishal), Md. Kamrul Hasan (Divisional Director of Fisheries), Dr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman (District Livestock Officer), Dr. Md. Hadiuzzaman (District Fisheries Officer), Md. Mamun Khandaker (Deputy Commissioner), Dr. Md. Sayedur Rahman (Civil Surgeon), Dr. Nasir Uddin Ahmed (Deputy Director, District Artificial Insemination Center), and Arun Kumar Saha (Deputy Director, Dairy and Livestock Development Farm), along with other officials from the divisional and district livestock departments. Various programs were undertaken to mark the day, including discussion meetings, awareness campaigns, egg distribution, and activities involving students and the general public.
Through these World Egg Day events, the Barishal Divisional Department of Livestock Services informed the public about the nutritional value of eggs, the production of safe and high-quality eggs, balanced dietary habits, and the poultry sector's contribution to the nation's nutrition and food security. Subsequently, the discussion meeting emphasized the importance of encouraging egg-producing farms and entrepreneurs, as well as establishing modern, safe, and sustainable production systems.
