Friendship football match held under the initiative of Rangamati district police

With the theme ―Let Harmony Flourish Through Sports,‖ a Friendship Football Match was organized by the Rangamati District Police on November 2 at 3 PM at Rangamati Mari Stadium. The match was contested between Rangamati Government High School and Rani Dayamayee High School, where the champion and runner-up were decided directly between these two teams. 

The game was filled with excitement and tension. The students of both schools created a festive atmosphere in the stands, cheering passionately for their teams. 

The match saw intense moments of attack and counterattack, keeping the spectators on edge. As neither team managed to score within the regular time, the game went to a tiebreaker. In the end, Rani Dayamayee High School won by 4–2 goals in the tiebreaker. After the match, the guests handed over medals and trophies to the winning and runner-up teams. 

The event was inaugurated by releasing balloons by the Chief Guest, Additional IGP of Bangladesh Police and DIG of Chattogram Range, Md. Ahsan Habib Palash (BPM-Service). Special guests at the Friendship Football Match 2025, organized by Rangamati District Police, included Joint Commissioner of DMP Farida Yasmin, Rangamati Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Mohammad Habib Ullah, Deputy Police Commissioner of DMP Kazi Nusrat Adeeb Luna, District Education Officer Sarit Kumar Chakma, District Council Member Barun Bikash Dewan, and District Sports Association representative Harun-or-Rashid. The event was presided over by Superintendent of Police Dr. S. M. Farhad Hossain. 

Also present were numerous police officers and staff, including Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Police Station Mohammad Saheb Uddin. The match commentary and hosting were conducted by Elizabeth Pangkhoa, Tarek Ahmed, and Md. Hasan Uddin, making every moment of the game more entertaining. 

The live music by the band team and the vibrant presence of the audience added to the lively atmosphere. In the Friendship Football Match, Senior Teacher Shafiul Nezam served as the coach for Rangamati Government High School, while Assistant Teacher Tondra Chakma took on the coaching responsibilities for Rani Dayamayee High School. 

Hashmat Ali served as the main referee of the match, while Sohel Ahmed and Md. Rashed performed the duties of assistant referees. After the match, medals were awarded to both teams and the referees. The champion team received the Champion Trophy, and the runner-up received the Runner-up Trophy. The players of Rani Dayamayee High School celebrated their victory with immense joy, turning the stadium into a scene of jubilation. Additionally, under the initiative of the District Police, a Friendship Mini Marathon was scheduled for November 3 at 7 AM, starting from the Municipal Office to Mari Stadium. 

Later at 10 AM, a Friendship Handball Match was set to take place at the same venue. Through these two days of sports events, the Rangamati District Police have promoted the spirit of harmony — a gesture warmly welcomed by the city’s civil society and enthusiastic sports lovers.
