Members of the Dhaka Metropolitan Ansar South Zone rescued a four-year-old child who had gone missing at Bangladesh Medical University and safely reunited the child with the parents.
The child was found crying in front of the university’s Outdoor-1 department at around 10am on Saturday. Patrol Ansar members noticed the distressed child and immediately took the child into safe custody while searching the hospital premises for the parents.
Police Constable (PC) Md Sohag Sheikh and Assistant Police Constable (APC) Moinam eventually located the child’s guardians through their alertness and prompt efforts.
In the presence of hospital authorities, the guardians’ identities and claims were verified before the child was handed back to them safely.
The Ansar members were praised for their vigilance, sense of responsibility and humanitarian efforts in ensuring the child’s safety and reuniting the family.
Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party members regularly provide security and assistance to visitors at hospitals and other important public facilities as part of their duties to maintain public safety and order.
