The 21st Biennial General Meeting of the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh (ASB) was held on Saturday, 19 September 2026, at the Auditorium of the Society. Eminent educationist and linguist Professor Abul Monsur Muhammad Abu Musa attended the meeting as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the event. During the Biennial General Meeting, the Secretary of the Society, Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Rahim, announced the names of the newly elected members of the Council of the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh for the 2026-2027 term.
Professor Dr. Sajahan Miah, Honorary Professor, Department of Philosophy, University of Dhaka, has been elected President of the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh for the 2026-2027 term, while Professor Md. Lutfor Rahaman, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of National University, Bangladesh, has been elected General Secretary.
