Bangladesh Bank has identified 22 unlicensed online payment aggregator platforms operating without approval and advised the public to avoid conducting transactions through them.
In a statement issued on Sunday (27 September), the central bank said providing payment services without its approval is illegal and punishable under the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2024.
The 22 platforms identified by Bangladesh Bank are Bahudurpay, Jinipay, Petilar, Bengalipay, Payora BD, Shohozpay BD, EasyPayWay, AK Pay, BD Pay, Sajgarpay, Asthapay or C-Pay, Uddyoktapay, Walletmix, BTTPay, Easy Pay Automation, Uniquepay BD, BD Auto Pay, RH Pay BD, Easypay, Autopay Limited, Bishwasto and Piprapay.
Bangladesh Bank urged people not to use or operate these platforms to protect their hard-earned money and avoid potential legal risks.
The central bank also advised the public to refrain from making any type of financial transaction through the identified unlicensed platforms.
