A 48-year-old woman went missing after being swept away by the strong current of the Ichamati River while bathing with friends in Munshiganj's Sirajdikhan upazila on Sunday.
The missing woman was identified as Habiba Rahman Babli, a resident of Rayerbagh area in Dhaka.
According to locals, Babli went to visit a friend's house in Kunder Bazar area of Sirajdikhan in the morning. At around noon, she and three friends went to the river to bathe.
At one point, Babli was swept away by the strong current of the river.
On receiving the information, a team of divers from the Munshiganj Fire Service, along with local residents, launched a search operation.
However, she had not been found, either alive or dead, as of Monday, according to the sources.
Babli is also related to travel writer of The Daily Industry and chief organiser of the travel organisation De-Chhut, Muhammad Javed Hakim.
