The Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (Ansar-VDP) has launched advance security preparations across the country to ensure a peaceful, orderly and safe celebration of the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja.
As part of the preparations, Ansar-VDP members are visiting idol-making sites, puja mandaps and temples in different districts and upazilas and holding discussions with puja committee leaders, temple authorities and people involved in idol-making.
During the meetings, discussions are focusing on idol security, law and order during the festival, and the responsibilities of puja committees and Ansar-VDP members.
The activities are being carried out under the supervision of upazila Ansar-VDP officers and instructors in different parts of the country, following instructions from Ansar-VDP Director General Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud.
During the inspections, officials are emphasising security arrangements at puja venues, entry and exit management, lighting, fire safety and other related issues. They are also stressing close coordination with local administration and law enforcement agencies to prevent any untoward incidents.
Puja committees have also been requested to ensure accommodation and necessary facilities for Ansar members assigned to security duties during the festival.
Authorities are seeking cooperation from all concerned to maintain overall security and discipline at puja venues and to ensure swift, coordinated action in case of emergencies.
Ansar-VDP members are being kept ready for deployment at puja venues across the country to help maintain public safety and law and order during Durga Puja.
The force said its advance preparations and field-level activities would continue in coordination with local administration, law enforcement agencies and puja committees to ensure a safe and peaceful celebration.
