Two counterfeit note makers and an attacker arrested in Pirojpur have been arrested in RAB operation in Barisal. Ahead of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Azha, some unscrupulous individuals are making counterfeit notes and supplying them to different parts of the country.
Based on such intelligence information, members of RAB-8 conducted a raid and arrested two counterfeit note makers along with counterfeit notes and various tools for making them. Senior Assistant Director Amit Hasan informed this through RAB-8's media cell on Tuesday afternoon, May 27.
RAB said that on the night of May 26, two people were arrested during a raid on the second floor of a rented house in Moukaran area under Sadar police station in Patuakhali. The arrested are Ayan Mir (23), son of Masud Mir of Rangabali police station in Patuakhali, and Tamim Khan (23), son of Shahid Khan of Moukaran area. During the search, fake notes worth Tk 9,900 were recovered from Ayan Mir and Tk 7,800 from Tamim Khan.
Later, during interrogation, various equipment including a printer used to print fake money, a laptop cable, two sheets of fake note samples and others were recovered from the house. It is learnt that a case has been filed against the arrested persons at Patuakhali Sadar Police Station and they have been handed over to the police station.
The press release also mentioned that such operations by RAB will continue to maintain peace and order in the country.
In another press release on the same day, RAB-8 Senior Assistant Director Amit Hasan said that a special operation team of RAB-8 CPSC conducted a drive in the area under Airport Police Station of the district on the night of May 26 based on secret information and arrested Kabir Jamaddar (28), one of the main absconding accused in the attack and extortion case against Bhandaria Police Station of Pirojpur. Accused Kabir Jamaddar is the son of Malek Jamaddar of Lakshipura village of Bhandaria. The arrested accused was handed over to Pirojpur Police Station on Tuesday morning.
