IIA Bangladesh holds 9th AGM and Members’ Night

The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Bangladesh successfully hosted its 9th Annual General Meeting (AGM), Members’ Night, and Mandatory Ethics Training 2025 on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at All Community Club, Gulshan-1, Dhaka. The event was proudly supported by the Internal Audit Foundation (IAF) Global Grant Program, which recognizes initiatives that enhance member engagement, awareness, learning opportunities and professional growth within the internal audit community worldwide.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) commenced in the evening, where Nausheen Ahmed, Secretary General of IIA Bangladesh, presented the Annual Report 2024, highlighting the Institute’s milestones, members’ activities, achievement, financial overview and significant subsequent activities. 

The session also featured the presentation of audited financial statements of 2024 and the announcement of the re-elected Board of Governors for the 2026 term, comprising: M Nurul Alam, FCS, President, Nanda Dulal Saha, FCA, ACA (ICAEW), Vice President, Amitava Saha, IAP, CGIA, Vice President, Ms. Nausheen Ahmed, CIA, CRMA, IAP, CISA, CC (ICS2), Secretary General, Tahsinur Rahim, CIA, CRMA, IAP, Treasurer, Ajit Kumar Paul, FCA, IP President, Adil Iftekhar, CIA, CISA, Member, Mohammed Tabarok Hossain, FCCA, CIA, CRMA, Member, Shatil Mahmood Sarker, CIA, Member, Raqib Al Rashid, CIA, CDCS, CEAF, Member Following the AGM, the program transitioned into the Members’ Night 2025, celebrating the achievements and unity of Bangladesh’s internal audit fraternity. 

The evening included the award presentation ceremony recognizing professionals who earned global credentials between 2020 and 2025. Individuals achieving the prestigious Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation and those awarded the Internal Audit Practitioner (IAP) designation were honored for their dedication to excellence and advancement of the profession in Bangladesh.
The celebration continued with a vibrant cultural performance, followed by a networking dinner, which brought together internal audit leaders, practitioners, and emerging professionals in an atmosphere of fellowship and shared pride. 

The day concluded with a raffle draw, adding a joyful finale to an evening that blended learning, recognition, and celebration. Earlier in the day, a Mandatory Ethics Training session was held, conducted by Mr. M. Nurul Alam, President, IIA Bangladesh where the session discussant was Adil Hossain, CCEP-I, Deputy Director, Ethics & Compliance Operations and AML Program, Banglalink Digital Communications Ltd. 

The session explored evolving ethical challenges in the profession, emphasizing the principles of integrity, objectivity, and professional conduct aligned with the Global Internal Audit Standards 2024. Participants actively engaged in discussions reinforcing the importance of ethical resilience in the audit profession. The 2025 AGM and Members’ Night reaffirmed IIA Bangladesh’s commitment to promoting professional excellence, ethical awareness, and global alignment for strengthening the internal audit community’s role as a catalyst for good governance across Bangladesh.
