Engineer Mahbuba Hakim, the younger sister of noted travel writer Muhammad Javed Hakim, has taken oath as a Member of Parliament from a reserved women’s seat representing Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis in the post-13th national election period.
In an interview, MP Mahbuba Hakim said she left a well-paying private sector job due to family needs and later rejoined public service with a commitment to serve the country and its people. She sought prayers from the nation, saying she hopes to remain guided by divine direction in her work for public welfare.
She also expressed gratitude to the leadership of the 11-party alliance, including Khelafat Majlis Amir Maulana Mamunul Haque, and thanked her husband Dr. Awlad Hossain and elder brother Muhammad Javed Hakim, saying their support and approval played a key role in her political journey.
