Bidia Productions has officially announced its upcoming full-length film ‘Jhamela’, which is scheduled to hit cinemas across Bangladesh during the 2027 Eid-ul-Fitr holiday.
The announcement was made at a press conference held on August 24, attended by the film’s cast and crew as well as members of the media.
According to the filmmakers, shooting and dubbing of the movie have already been completed, along with work on all six songs. The background music is currently being produced in India. Once post-production is completed, the film will be submitted to the Bangladesh Film Certification Board.
Directed by Yamin Elan and produced by Dia Jasmin Rais, ‘Jhamela’ revolves around family conflicts and the harsh realities of struggles for social status, offering what the filmmakers describe as a distinctive storyline.
The film features a large ensemble cast, including Dolly Zahur, Shyamal Mawla, Tanzika Amin, Rashed Mamunur Rahman Opu, Kazi Nawshaba Ahmed, Abu Hurayra Tanvir, Abdullah Rana, Saberi Alam, Iqbal Hossain, Dia Rais, Saifur Rahman Evan, Rezmin Setu, Faisal Bappy, Farhana Yasmin Eva, Naznin Shabnam, Israt Rahman, Shahed Osman Romel and Reshma Ahmed. Child artistes Jannah and Adrita are also part of the cast.
The music is expected to be one of the film’s major attractions. The movie will feature six songs, all of which have been sung solo by popular Bangladeshi singer Asif Akbar.
Director Yamin Elan and producer Dia Jasmin Rais said their primary goal is to offer audiences a clean, complete and entertaining story. They expressed confidence that ‘Jhamela’ will meet audience expectations during the festive atmosphere of Eid-ul-Fitr.
