With a staggering portfolio that includes nearly 3,000 music videos and an impressive catalog of acclaimed short films and television dramas, Elan has quietly but firmly established himself as one of the most prolific directors in the country. Yet, behind the lens is also a frontman, a guitarist, and a composer who has been shaping the local soundscape since the mid-2000s. Known widely through his professional screen name, Elan maintains a strong digital presence recognized across his verified Facebook page and YouTube channel.
A Symphony of Two Decades
Before he was calling the shots on set, Elan was commanding the stage. In 2004, he took the mantle as the lead singer, guitarist, and primary songwriter for the Bangladeshi band BjoyRoth. Serving as the creative engine for the band, he single-handedly penned and tuned almost all of their tracks.
By 2009, his profound understanding of rhythm and melody naturally transitioned into formal music direction and entrepreneurship. He founded E-Music, serving as its CEO, and transformed it into a powerhouse Bangladeshi record label. What began as a nationwide CD distribution network has since evolved into a global platform, releasing nearly 2,000 songs worldwide. Through E-Music, Elan directed the music for celebrated albums such as 1+1=3?, Mon Jaaney, and Pata Jhora Utshob between 2009 and 2012, and the label remains a highly active force in producing new music today.
Even as his directorial career skyrocketed, Elan’s commitment to his musical roots has remained steadfast. On July 30, 2026, BjoyRoth released their latest single, Gontobbo (গন্তব্য), under the E-Music label. With poignant lyrics by Biplob Siddiki and Elan providing the tune, lead vocals, and guitar, the track highlights the band's enduring synergy. Featuring bassist Ashfakur Rahman, keyboardist Moniruzzaman Shuvro, and drummer Shaikat Paul, the song was meticulously crafted across Bangladhol and E-Music studios—with recordists Sazzad Hossain handling drums and vocals, while Shuvro and Rahman engineered the instrumental tracks. Mixed and mastered by Amzad Hossain, Gontobbo proves that Elan’s musical drive is as potent today as it was twenty years ago.
The Directorial Juggernaut
In 2011, Elan stepped into the director’s chair, sparking a visual career of unprecedented volume. Holding the record for directing arguably the highest number of music videos in Bangladesh, his distinctive visual style has brought thousands of songs to life. This monumental output and artistic vision were formally recognized on a national stage in October 2023, when he took home the prestigious award for Best Performance in the Music Video Director category at the 18th Sunsilk Channel i Music Awards.
However, his canvas rapidly expanded beyond music. Elan ventured into television, directing popular TV fictions (Bangla Natok) that resonated deeply with local audiences. Notable works like Aaj Babar Biye, Biprotip, Shesh Shoroter Kabbo, Bhinnojon Srot, Shudhu Tomar Jonno, Nirbashito, and Shatdiner Fuli showcased his ability to handle complex emotional narratives and family dynamics. His directorial prowess in this medium was notably underscored in 2020 when his TV fiction Bhinnojon Srot garnered five nominations at the RTV Star Awards, including a well-deserved personal nomination for Best Director.
His critical acclaim is further evident in his high-quality short films. Titles such as SIREN, Tumi Janle Na, Pora Matir Phool, Bondi Surjo, Alo'r Kol, and Kanta have earned him a reputation for cinematic depth and striking visual metaphors.

Currently, Elan is channeling his vast experience in short-form and episodic storytelling into his most ambitious project yet: his debut full-length feature film, Jhamela.
