Students dissatisfied with their Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examination results can apply for re-scrutiny from Sunday (November 1), with the application window remaining open until November 7.
Nearly 600,000 students failed this year's examinations, while many others did not achieve their expected grades. The re-scrutiny process will allow them to seek a review of their results through an online application system.
The Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee has announced the application procedure and fee payment guidelines. Applications must be submitted online, as no manual applications will be accepted.
How to apply
Students seeking re-scrutiny must visit the designated application website and enter their examination roll and registration numbers. They must then select their respective education board from the dropdown menu and click the 'Submit' button.
Applicants will subsequently be asked to provide a mobile phone number, which will be used to send SMS notifications when the re-scrutiny results are published.
On the next screen, students can view their subject-wise results and select the subjects they want reviewed before clicking the 'Pay Fee' button.
The application fee is Tk 150 per paper. For subjects consisting of two papers, students must apply for both papers.
Payments can be made through bKash, Nagad, Dutch-Bangla Bank Rocket, Upay and Sonali Seba. The applicable fee will be displayed before payment.
Detailed payment instructions are available under the 'Help' option on the application portal.
After completing payment, applicants must return to the portal and click the 'Submit' button to finalise their applications.
Rules for adding or removing subjects
According to the committee's notification, students can add more subjects even after submitting an application and paying the initial fee. In such cases, they must follow the same application procedure, but there is no need to provide their mobile phone number again.
Students can also modify their applications before completing payment. By clicking the 'Delete' button, they can remove previously selected subjects and choose new ones.
However, subjects for which fees have already been paid cannot be removed.
The education boards have clarified that once an application is submitted after payment, the selected subjects cannot be cancelled under any circumstances.
No refund will be issued for fees already paid, the notification said.
Students have been advised to complete their applications within the November 1–7 deadline and carefully verify their selected subjects before making payment.
