A measles vaccination awareness program has been held in Magura as part of efforts to prevent the rising outbreak of measles across the country. The initiative aims to implement a special program to identify dropout, left-out, and positive cases.
The program was inaugurated yesterday at 9:00 AM at the Magura municipality premises by Member of Parliament of Magura-1 constituency, Monowar Hossain Khan, as the chief guest.
The meeting was chaired by Civil Surgeon Dr. Shamim Kabir. Special guests included Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Al Mahmud, Superintendent of Police Molla Azad Hossain, Municipal Administrator Imtiaz Hossain, and BMA Magura District General Secretary Dr. Abdul Hai, among others.
Speakers stated that, following government guidelines, children aged 9 months to 2 years are initially being given measles vaccines and Vitamin A capsules. Gradually, children aged 9 months to 59 months will be brought under this vaccination program.
The program was organized by the District Health Department with support from Magura Municipality.
