Training for 151 newly recruited senior officers of Ansar-VDP Development Bank has begun to enhance their professional skills and provide them with a comprehensive understanding of banking operations.
The first phase of the basic training course, involving 25 senior officers, began on August 15 and will continue until August 27.
Speaking at a training session on Wednesday, Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, chairman of Ansar-VDP Development Bank and director general of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Force, outlined the bank’s objectives, future plans and its role in implementing the force’s development initiatives, including the ‘Sanjiban’ project.
He stressed the need to make banking services more efficient, transparent, modern and customer-friendly, saying the bank plays an important role in ensuring financial inclusion and welfare of Ansar-VDP members.
The session also discussed the implementation of the Core Banking System (CBS) and integration with national payment and clearing systems, including BACH, NPSB and BEFTN/EFT. These initiatives are expected to make digital banking and interbank transactions faster, safer and more accessible.
The DG urged the newly recruited officers to develop professional skills, technological knowledge and a strong sense of responsibility to help modernise the bank and improve customer services.
He expressed hope that the officers would use their training and expertise to expand digital services and ensure faster and better financial services for Ansar-VDP members.
