Police have detained two men in connection with the killing of four members of a family at a house in Machuapara, Rangpur city.
The detainees were identified as Siddhartha Das, 23, and Mugdha Das, 19. They were detained early Sunday from Dakhiganj crematorium in Rangpur. Both are residents of Machuapara, and police said they are known drug users in the area.
The bodies of former Rangpur Zilla School teacher Ganapati Chakraborty, 65, his wife Pritilata Chakraborty, 50, daughter Agami Chakraborty, 25, and son **Ayush Chakraborty, 13, were recovered from their home on Saturday night.
Rangpur CID Police Inspector Abu Hasan Kabir confirmed the detention of the two suspects. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the killings.
