The certificate distribution ceremony of the 3rd batch of the Professional Masters in Information and Cyber Security (PMICS) programme, organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at the University of Dhaka, was held on Saturday evening, August 29, 2026, at the Mokarram Hossain Khondkar Science Building.
University of Dhaka Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr Abdus Salam attended the event as the chief guest and distributed certificates among the graduates.
The ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr Md Abdur Razzak, Chairman of the Department of CSE. Professor Dr Saifuddin Md Tariq, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, delivered an address, while PMICS Course Coordinator Professor Dr Md Rezaul Karim delivered the welcome speech.
Associate Professor Dr Ismat Rahman, a member of the programme’s management committee, announced the names of the certificate recipients. Third-batch students Abdul Kader and Tahsina Sadia Mim also shared their experiences at the event.
In his speech, Professor Dr Abdus Salam highlighted recent cyberattacks targeting the financial sector and other areas, stressing the need to develop qualified, trained and professional cybersecurity experts to prevent such incidents.
He expressed hope that the PMICS programme would play an important role in developing skilled human resources in cybersecurity. Congratulating the certificate recipients, he urged them to use the knowledge gained through the programme effectively and play a leading role in bringing positive change to society and the country.
A total of 36 participants received certificates at the ceremony.
