Village Defence Party (VDP) leaders in Keshabpur, Jashore, played a key role in identifying and handing over a court-convicted fugitive, who had been in hiding for nearly eight months, to police.
While performing their duties at the local level in Sagardari and Satbaria unions, VDP leaders gathered information about the whereabouts of the accused, who was wanted under an arrest warrant issued by a court. Police had been trying to arrest him for a long time, but he remained in hiding.
