Ansar members on duty at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka recovered a lost iPhone and returned it to its rightful owner early Sunday.
At around 2:15am on October 4, Ansar member Mithun Kumar spotted the phone lying abandoned beneath a scanner belt near Heavy Luggage Gate No. 4 while performing his duty.
He immediately informed the on-duty aviation security (AVSEC) personnel and the area in-charge, Platoon Commander (PC) Md Dolon Mia.
A joint effort was then launched to identify the phone's owner. After searching the area and conducting the necessary verification, a passenger named Shaha Nuruzzaman was identified as the rightful owner.
The phone was handed over to Nuruzzaman after his ownership was verified, in the presence of PC Md Alamgir.
The passenger and other people present at the airport praised the members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party for their vigilance, professionalism and prompt response.
