Bangladesh Bridge Authority Completes ‘Sanjibani Course’ to Enhance Employee Skills and Workplace Motivation

The Bangladesh Bridge Authority (BBA) has successfully concluded its five-day professional development and skills enhancement training program, titled “Sanjibani Course,” for employees in Grades 10–16 under its Human Resource Development and Capacity Building Project. The training program ended today at the Rural Development Academy (RDA) in Bogura through a colorful closing ceremony.
The workshop, which began on June 16, 2026, brought together employees from Grades 10–16 of the Bangladesh Bridge Authority with the objective of strengthening their professional competence and improving workplace performance.
The closing ceremony was attended by Md. Abdur Rouf, Secretary of the Bridges Division and Executive Director of the Bangladesh Bridge Authority, as the chief guest. The event was presided over by Dr. Md. Abdul Majid Pramanik, Director General of the Rural Development Academy (RDA), Bogura.
The Human Resource Development and Capacity Building Project of the Bangladesh Bridge Authority was launched in July 2017. With the successful completion of the Sanjibani Course, the project has now reached its successful conclusion. The project was led by Altaf Hossain Sheikh, Director (Administration) of the Bangladesh Bridge Authority and Additional Secretary to the Government, who served as the Project Director.
Addressing the closing ceremony, Chief Guest Md. Abdur Rouf said: “Government employees are the driving force behind the nation’s development. Under the visionary leadership of the Honorable Prime Minister, we are working toward building a safe and prosperous Bangladesh. To achieve this goal, every employee must continuously update their skills and receive timely training. The Sanjibani Course is not merely a formality; it is a source of renewed motivation for your professional journey. I am confident that the knowledge gained through this training will be reflected in both your personal and institutional responsibilities.”
Speaking on the occasion, Project Director and Additional Secretary Altaf Hossain Sheikh stated:  “The Sanjibani Course was introduced to modernize public service delivery and make it more citizen-friendly by keeping pace with rapidly evolving technologies. The training has inspired participants with renewed enthusiasm toward their work, which will contribute significantly to improving their professional efficiency. We expect them to effectively utilize the knowledge acquired through this program to ensure higher standards of service delivery.”
In his presidential remarks, RDA Director General Dr. Md. Abdul Majid Pramanik said: “The key to the success of any institution lies in the proper development of its human resources. The Bangladesh Bridge Authority has been playing a transformative role in the country’s infrastructure development, and this achievement is made possible through the tireless dedication of employees like you. The Rural Development Academy has long been engaged in enhancing the skills of government officials, and the Sanjibani Course is another important part of that ongoing effort.”
During the ceremony, participant representatives shared their experiences and reflections on the training program. The chief guest later distributed certificates among all trainees. Following the ceremony, while returning to Dhaka by road, Secretary of the Bridges Division and Executive Director of the Bangladesh Bridge Authority Md. Abdur Rouf visited the Jamuna Bridge Site Office area. He reviewed the progress of ongoing plantation activities being implemented under the National Tree Plantation Program announced by the Honorable Prime Minister. He also discussed the integration of RFID readers with ONVIF-enabled camera systems for the introduction of Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) lanes on the bridge.
During the visit, he provided necessary directives to the concerned officials regarding environmental conservation, greening initiatives around the bridge area, and the further modernization and acceleration of toll collection operations.
