In view of Writ Petition No-13683/2016 regarding determination/redetermination of LPG price at consumer level, the order dated 25 August 2020 of the Hon'ble High Court Division and in exercise of the powers and duties conferred under Sections 22 (b) and 34 of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003, after hearing the interested parties, BERC Order No. issued on 12 April 2021: The Commission has fixed/refixed the prices of government and private LPG at the consumer level through 2021/01. Later, the Commission is adjusting the prices of private LPG on a monthly basis in line with Saudi CP.
(a) Considering the Saudi CP of propane and butane declared by Saudi Aramco for the month of August 2026 at US$ 620,000 and US$ 640.00 per metric ton respectively, the average Saudi CP of US$ 633.00 per metric ton, the freight and trader's premium on LPG import at US$ 180.00 per metric ton and the average exchange rate of Tk 123.69 per US dollar, the consumer level price of private LPG and autogas for the month of August 2026 has been adjusted as follows, namely:-
(i) The consumer level price of private LPG at the retail point has been adjusted to Tk 133.15 per kg including VAT. Accordingly, the consumer level price of bottled LPG at the retail point has been adjusted to Tk 1,598/- per 12 kg. In addition, orders have been issued to adjust the price of 5.5, 12.5, 15, 16, 18, 20, 22, 25, 30, 33, 35 and 45 kg bottled private LPG at the consumer level;
(ii) the price of private LPG supplied in liquid form under the reticulated system, including VAT, has been adjusted to Tk 129.40 per kg or the price of private LPG supplied in gaseous form under the reticulated system, including VAT, has been adjusted to Tk 0.2875 per liter or Tk 287.50 per cubic meter at the consumer level; and
(iii) the price of autogas at the consumer level, including VAT, has been adjusted to Tk 73.67 per liter.
(b) As per BERC Order No.: 2026/06 issued on 23 February 2026, the price of government LPG at the dealer/retailer point at the consumer level will remain unchanged at Tk. 776.93 per 12.50 kg including MUSK.
The Commission Order regarding price adjustment of private LPG at the consumer level based on Saudi CP (BERC Order No.: 2026/29) will be applicable and effective from 06:00 PM on 02 August 2026.
03. LPG (bottled and supplied through reticulated system)/autogas cannot be sold at any stage (LPG storage and bottling, distributor and retail point at the consumer level) at a price higher than the price fixed by the Commission.
04.Other orders and instructions of BERC Order No. 2021/07 issued on 10 October 2021 shall remain unchanged.
05. The notification regarding the adjusted consumer price of private LPG (bottled and supplied through reticulated system) and the adjusted consumer price of autogas will be available on the Commission's website www.berc.org.bd.
