Green Voice International organized a tree plantation and sapling distribution program at Bottola in Algi Uttar Union under Haimchar Upazila on Saturday to promote environmental awareness.
The program was attended by the organization's Chief Coordinator, Md. Ovi Ahmed Juel, who urged young people to take an active role in protecting the environment by planting trees.
He said climate change remains one of the world's biggest challenges, with rising temperatures, irregular rainfall, floods, and river erosion affecting people's lives. He noted that tree plantation is a simple, effective, and long-term solution, as trees absorb carbon dioxide, produce oxygen, preserve biodiversity, and help build a sustainable future.
Jewel encouraged everyone to plant at least one tree, care for it, and inspire others to do the same.
Environmental activists Md. Sabuj, Md. Shakil, Md. Masud, Md. Rabbi, Iman, Rafi, and other leaders of the organization were also present at the event.
