As part of the implementation of the Honorable Prime Minister’s 180-day program and electoral manifesto, an awareness workshop titled "Renewable Power Generation" was held today at the BSCIC Industrial Estate, Tongi, Gazipur. Mr. Benzazir Ahmed, Honorable Chairman of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC), was present at the workshop as the Chief Guest.
The event was presided over by Mr. Mansurul Karim, Regional Director of BSCIC Regional Office, Dhaka. The workshop was attended by senior officials from the BSCIC Regional Office (Dhaka), the District Head of BSCIC District Office (Gazipur), the Industrial Estate Officer of BSCIC Tongi, representatives from the Department of Environment, and expert consultants specializing in renewable energy infrastructure construction.
Also present were Mr. Syed Tanveer Hossain, President of BSCIC Industrial Estate Tongi Owners' Welfare Association; Mr. Ehsanul Huq Selim, General Secretary; other members of the association; and owners and representatives of various industrial entities within the estate. Detailed discussions took place during the workshop regarding increasing the use of renewable energy including rooftop solar installations in industrial units—energy conservation, eco-friendly industrialization, reduction of carbon emissions, as well as government initiatives and action plans for sustainable industrial development.
