The three-day Dhaka University Green Nexus–2026 programme concluded on Thursday, September 3, at the Central Gallery of the Department of Botany.
Organised jointly by the Dhaka University Environmental Parliament and the Arboriculture Centre, the closing ceremony was attended by DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof Dr Mohammad Almozaddedi Alfechani as chief guest.
He stressed planting more native tree species to combat rising pollution in Dhaka, while urging students to ensure proper care and protection of planted trees. He also called for collective efforts to make the university campus greener and cleaner.
The programme was chaired by Prof Dr Mohammad Jasim Uddin, Director of the Arboriculture Centre and Chief Adviser of the Environmental Parliament.
Ten students were also awarded for demonstrating excellence in environmental activities.
