The Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Force, Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, has cleared a bank loan of Tk4,21,763 taken by an Ansar Battalion soldier who died while on duty, providing financial relief to his bereaved family.

The Director General handed over a cheque for the full loan amount to the soldier's wife, Manisha Biswas, at the Ansar and VDP headquarters in Khilgaon on Monday.

Sepoy Joy Gain of Satkhira Ansar Battalion (30 BN) died of electrocution on March 12, 2026, while performing his duties at the Ansar and VDP Academy in Safipur.

He left behind his wife and two young children, then aged three years and seven months.

Gain had taken a loan of Tk4.15 lakh from Ansar-VDP Development Bank under the 'One House, One Farm' project. With interest, the outstanding amount stood at Tk4,21,763.

Following an application from his wife, the force's chief took the initiative to repay the entire outstanding loan, relieving the family of the financial burden.

Director (Welfare) Enamul Khan was also present during the cheque handover.

The initiative reflects the force's commitment to supporting the families of its members who lose their lives while performing official duties.
