The Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) has deployed 51,442 trained members at 8,031 Durga Puja mandaps across 13 districts under the Dhaka Range to ensure peaceful and secure celebrations.
The members will perform security duties for eight consecutive days, from October 15 to 22, according to information shared at a briefing on Thursday at the Narayanganj Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium.
Under the security plan, eight Ansar-VDP members will be assigned to each high-risk puja mandap, while six members will be deployed at each regular and low-risk venue.
To strengthen emergency response, 29 mobile striking force teams of the Ansar Battalion have been kept ready across the 13 districts. Each team will comprise six members and respond to emergencies, assist law enforcement agencies and support security operations as needed.
At the briefing, Ansar and VDP Deputy Director General Md Asaduzzaman Gani instructed members to perform their duties with vigilance, professionalism and dedication. He stressed coordination with local administration, police and other relevant agencies to maintain security.
He also emphasised the protection of women, children and visitors, urging personnel to remain prepared for any untoward incident and avoid negligence while on duty.
Officials will regularly inspect and monitor security arrangements. Ansar Battalion members will serve as a striking force during emergencies.
The briefing also covered the use of the integrated digital security platform, *Sharadiya Surokkha App*, to exchange information and monitor situations. Members were instructed to promptly upload information, photographs and videos concerning incitement, rumours, misinformation or other incidents so that the relevant authorities could take necessary action.
Narayanganj District Ansar and VDP Commandant Md Helal Uddin, Upazila Nirbahi Officer SM Foyez Uddin and other officials attended the briefing.
