RAB has arrested Kuddus Bepari alias Boma Kuddus (54), the main accused in the sensational public fight and bomb explosion incident between two parties in Jajira, Shariatpur. He was arrested in a joint operation by RAB-8 and RAB-3 from Muminbagh area under Shahjahanpur police station in Dhaka city on Sunday morning. Captain Lt. Col. Nistar Ahmed gave this information at a press conference at the headquarters of RAB-8 on Sunday afternoon, April 6.
He said that Kuddus Bepari and Jalil Madbar were candidates for the post of chairman of Bilaspur Union under Jajira police station in Shariatpur district in the last Union Parishad election. Kuddus Bepari was elected as chairman in the election and Jalil Madbar was defeated. Since the said election, there has been an extreme dispute between the supporters of the two parties and both parties have clashed several times in which several people were killed and many people were injured.
As a result, on the morning of April 5, in front of the house of Jasim Engineer in Kaziarchar village of Bilaspur union under Jajira police station of Shariatpur district, on the morning of April 5, under the supervision of the arrested accused and with the direct participation of other accused, people from both sides conspired to create panic in the public by randomly exploding bombs to endanger life or property, and several people were injured.
After that, on the same date, i.e. on April 5, at approximately 8:30 am, the accused mentioned in the complaint again created panic in the crop field in front of the house of Faizal Sardar in Mulai Beparikandi village of Bilaspur union under Jajira police station of Shariatpur district, in the second incident, in front of the house of Faizal Sardar in Mulai Beparikandi village of Bilaspur union under Jajira police station of Shariatpur district. In this incident, the police filed a case with Jajira police station of Shariatpur district.
Later, the arrested accused will be handed over to Jajira police station of Shariatpur district. He also said that there are 19 cases against the arrested accused for various crimes at Jajira Police Station in Shariatpur district and one each at Airport and Bhatara Police Stations in Dhaka city.
