The monthly meeting of the District Law and Order Committee was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office organized by the Munshiganj District Administration. The meeting was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate Syeda Nurmahal Ashrafi.
Also present at the meeting were the Honorable Member of Parliament for Munshiganj-3 constituency Md. Kamruzzaman, Superintendent of Police, Munshiganj Mr. Md. Menhazul Alam, PPM, Additional District Magistrate Mr. Md. Rezaul Karim, all Upazila Nirbahi Officers of the district and representatives of law enforcement agencies.
The crime picture for the month of March 2026 was presented at the meeting and it was informed that the total number of cases in the district has increased to 213, of which the highest number is 106 drug-related cases. Especially, the trend of crime has been observed more in Munshiganj Sadar Upazila.
In addition, the meeting presented information on the punishment of 123 people through 102 mobile courts conducted throughout the month and the seizure of a significant amount of drugs and illegal electricity.
In the chairman's speech, the Deputy Commissioner announced a 'zero tolerance' policy to eradicate drugs and juvenile gangs. He gave strict instructions to conduct regular task force operations to control crime and to keep the law and order situation in the district stable through close supervision of all the concerned departments. In addition, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the BRTA to conduct operations and mobile courts in all upazilas against unfit vehicles, drivers of cars/bikes without licenses and registrations.
