Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md. Ali Hossain Fakir has called on police officers to remain modern and up-to-date in order to combat the rapidly evolving nature of crime, particularly technology-driven offenses and cybercrime.
He made the remarks as the chief guest at the passing-out parade of 209 trainee cadet Sub-Inspectors (SI) of the 41st batch (2025) at the parade ground of Bangladesh Police Academy in Sardah, Rajshahi, on Wednesday (April 8) morning.
Congratulating the newly trained officers, the IGP said that the long and rigorous training had enhanced their physical capability and mental resilience. He reminded them that their primary duty as police members is to ensure public safety and work tirelessly to uphold justice. He also instructed them to perform their duties with professionalism, sincerity, and dedication.
The IGP said, “The trust and love of the people are the greatest strength of Bangladesh Police. Duties must be carried out with honesty and humanity.” He urged the officers to take a firm stand against corruption and injustice to uphold the rule of law. Addressing the new officers, he emphasized the motto ‘Service is Religion’ and asked them to stand by people in times of need.
At the event, the chief guest inspected the parade and took the salute. He later distributed awards among the trainee SIs who excelled in various fields.
Among others present at the ceremony were Principal of Bangladesh Police Academy G.M. Azizur Rahman, senior police officials, military and civil,Officers local dignitaries, and guardians of the trainees. Assistant Superintendent of Police Shubho Kumar Ghosh commanded the parade.
