Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Saturday pledged to ensure the highest punishment for the killer of the seven-year-old girl murdered in Dhaka’s Pallabi within one month, stating that the accused will face the death penalty.
He made the remarks while inaugurating the 127th birth anniversary celebrations of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam in Trishal, Mymensingh.
Referring to the brutal killing of the child in Mirpur, the Prime Minister described the incident as a sign of “serious moral degradation” in society. He said the government would show zero tolerance toward violence against women and children.
“The punishment will be ensured within one month so that no one dares to commit such crimes in the future,” he said.
