According to Section 34 (4) and 34 (6) of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003, after holding public hearings in view of the proposals of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) and Padma Oil Company Limited (POCL), after detailed review and analysis, on 13 May 2025, the price of Jet A-1 including duty and MST and excluding duty and MST for domestic and international flights at the consumer level was revised through BERC Order No.: 2025/08. Later, the price of Jet A-1 is being adjusted by the Commission on the basis of monthly Platts Rate.

As per Article 9.2 of the said order, a committee was formed on 25 May 2025 through the Commission's Memorandum No. 28.01.0000.012.23.002.25.2666 to adjust the price of Jet A-1 on a monthly basis, taking into account the Platts Rate published for the previous month (05th to 04th of the following month) of Jet A-1, the exchange rate of the US dollar in the case of LC settlement of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) for the import of Jet A-1 in the following month, and the change in the transportation charges of control tankers and tank lorries due to the change in the price of diesel. Due to significant changes in the price of Jet A-1 (aviation fuel) in the international market, the said committee has submitted a report to the Commission on 23 May 2026 for the period between May 2026, taking into account the average of the Platts Rate of Jet A-1 from 05 May 2026 to 21 May 2026, the exchange rate of the US dollar in the LC Settlement of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) during that period, and the prevailing price of diesel, taking into account the transportation charges of control tankers and tank lorries.
03. A hearing was held in the Commission on the report today, 23 May 2026. After detailed review, taking into account the average of the published Platts Rate of Jet A-1 from 05 May 2026 to 21 May 2026, the exchange rate of US Dollar in BPC LC Settlement and the prevailing price of diesel, the price of Jet A-1 has been adjusted by the Commission for the period between May 2026 as follows:
(a) The price of Jet A-1 including duty and cess for domestic flights is 165.88 Taka per liter;
and
(b) The price of Jet A-1 excluding duty and cess for international flights of domestic and foreign airlines is 1.0823 USD per liter.
04. The order of the Commission regarding the adjusted price of Jet A-1 will be applicable and effective from 12:00 midnight on 23 May 2026.
05. The notification regarding the redetermination of the price of Jet A-1 has been uploaded on the Commission's website www.berc.org.bd. The full order will be uploaded on the Commission's website.
