Growing up in a farming family, working alongside his father in the paddy fields, and overcoming financial hardship, Hasibur Rahman from Mohanpur upazila of Rajshahi has turned his dream into reality by being recommended for the Administration Cadre in the 47th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination.

Until his Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination, Hasibur regularly assisted his father in agricultural work while pursuing his studies. Today, his remarkable achievement has brought pride not only to his family but also to his educational institutions and the entire Mohanpur upazila.

Hasibur is the youngest among five siblings. He is the son of farmer Badar Uddin and Mosammat Bibijan Khatun, an office assistant (Aya) at Mahabbatpur-Khanpur Degree College, from Pakuria village under Dhurail Union in Mohanpur upazila.

Raised in a modest rural family, Hasibur developed a strong passion for education from an early age. Despite financial constraints, he never compromised on his studies. His determination, perseverance and self-belief eventually led him to one of the country's most prestigious public service positions.

He completed his primary education at Pakuria Government Primary School, his SSC from Mahabbatpur High School, and his Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) from Mahabbatpur-Khanpur Degree College. Later, he earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Botany from the University of Dhaka.

Currently, Hasibur is serving as an Officer (General) at Sonali Bank PLC. He has also been recommended for the position of Senior Officer. While managing his professional responsibilities, he continued preparing for the BCS examination and ultimately secured a place in the Administration Cadre through the 47th BCS.

Following the publication of the results, a steady stream of well-wishers, students, local residents and representatives of various social organisations has been visiting his home to congratulate him. His achievement has become a matter of celebration across the locality.

Residents said Hasibur is the first person from Pakuria village to be recommended for a BCS cadre position, making his success a historic milestone for the area.

His father, Badar Uddin, said, "We struggled to educate our children. Today, Allah has honoured us through our son's success. We pray that he serves the country with honesty and dedication."

His mother, Bibijan Khatun, expressed her joy, saying that all the sacrifices they made for their children now feel worthwhile.

Hasibur's wife, Sidratul Muntaha, an assistant teacher at a government primary school, said she always encouraged her husband to remain patient and persistent. "I kept telling him never to lose hope and to continue trying. Today, we are extremely happy with his success," she said.

Reflecting on his achievement, Hasibur said, "I am proud to say that I am a farmer's son. My parents worked tirelessly to educate us. I am grateful that I could fulfil their dream. The encouragement and prayers of my parents, wife, brothers and sisters gave me the strength to keep moving forward. My goal is to serve the people of Bangladesh with honesty and dedication."

Sheikh Md. Rezaul Karim, Principal of Mahabbatpur-Khanpur Degree College, described Hasibur as a brilliant and hardworking student from his early years. "We are proud of his achievement. We hope our current students will be inspired by his success and aspire to become BCS officers themselves," he said.

Mohanpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Fahima Binte Akhtar said Hasibur's success is a matter of pride for the entire upazila. "The upazila administration will honour him with a civic reception in recognition of his outstanding achievement," she said.

Hasibur Rahman's inspiring journey from working in the paddy fields to earning a place in the Bangladesh Civil Service demonstrates that determination, discipline and hard work can overcome even the most difficult circumstances. His story stands as a source of inspiration for thousands of students across the country, proving that no dream is beyond reach with perseverance and dedication.
