Relief program launched for Bandarban flood victims

World Vision Bangladesh and Village Development Organization (GROUSE) have started an emergency assistance program in Bandarban to stand by the families affected by the recent floods. 

On Monday (July 20), Bandarban Sadar Upazila Hallroom inaugurated the program entitled 'Flood Emergency Response in Bandarban 2026' and distributed cash assistance and hygiene kits to flood affected families.

At the beginning of the program, Grouse Executive Director Chaising Mong Marma gave a welcome address. World Vision Bangladesh Operations Director Lima Hanna Daring and Bandarban Area Senior Manager Ashish Kumar Halder spoke.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) and Deputy Director (Acting), Local Government S. M. Manzurul Haq.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) SM Hasan was the special guest. Bandarban Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Marufa Sultana Khan Hibamani presided over the event.

At the end of the event, cash and hygiene kits were distributed among hundreds of flood affected families. At the same time, the representatives of Grouse and World Vision Bangladesh presented the project recommendations and subsequent action plans.

The program is being implemented by World Vision Bangladesh and Grouse. Cooperation includes Start Fund Bangladesh and UKAid (UKAid), Sida (Sida), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, JAOA (JOA) and Konrad N.Hilton Foundation.
