Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (Ansar-VDP) on Wednesday officially launched its new media cell, "Prantik Kanthoshor" (Voices from the Margins), aimed at highlighting the lives of marginalized communities, the force's public service activities and the government's development initiatives.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan inaugurated the media cell at the Ansar-VDP Headquarters, describing it as an effective platform to connect the public with the force's contributions to national development and grassroots welfare.
Speaking at the event, the minister said the force's nearly six million members should be integrated into digital platforms to showcase their skills, achievements and positive contributions more effectively. He added that the initiative would help build a more modern, technology-driven and efficient Ansar-VDP.
The program, chaired by Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, Director General of Ansar-VDP, was also attended by State Minister for Railways and Road Transport and Highways Habibur Rashid, MP, as special guest.
The Director General said the new platform would promote verified information, highlight inspiring stories from grassroots communities, showcase the force's achievements and help counter misinformation. He expressed hope that Prantik Kanthoshor would strengthen public awareness and reinforce trust between citizens and state institutions.
