The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested **Milon Khan**, the alleged mastermind and prime accused in the sensational murder case of **Saeedul Islam Sajib (26)** in Bakerganj, Barishal.
According to RAB, Milon Khan, 40, son of the late Rustam Ali Khan of Lochonabad village under Rangashree Union in Bakerganj, was arrested during a joint operation conducted by **RAB-8 and RAB-10** in the **Sarulia area of Demra, Dhaka**, on Friday, June 13.
Sources from the case and RAB said the murder stemmed from a long-standing dispute over land ownership. On March 28, at around 10:00 am, Milon Khan and his associates allegedly attacked **Abul Hossain Khan (58)** and his son **Saeedul Islam Sajib** on a piece of land under their possession in Lochonabad village.
The attackers, armed with iron rods, shovels, sharp weapons, and sticks, reportedly assaulted the victims indiscriminately, leaving both father and son critically injured.
Local residents rushed them to Bakerganj Upazila Health Complex. While Abul Hossain received primary treatment there, Sajib's condition deteriorated, prompting his transfer to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barishal and later to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. He succumbed to his injuries at around 1:30 am on March 31 while undergoing treatment.
Following the incident, Sajib’s father filed a murder case with Bakerganj Police Station.
RAB officials said that after the killing, Milon Khan went into hiding and frequently changed locations to evade arrest and mislead law enforcement agencies. However, his whereabouts were eventually traced through modern surveillance and information technology.
Acting on intelligence reports, a specialized team from RAB-8 and RAB-10 conducted the joint operation in Demra and successfully apprehended the accused.
RAB-8 confirmed that Milon Khan has been handed over to **Jatrabari Police Station** under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) for further legal proceedings.
