In the biennial election of Khulna Journalists Union - KUJ, Channel Nine's Khulna divisional head Sunil Das has been elected president uncontested, Gazi TV staff reporter Sheikh Liaquat Hossain general secretary and ATN Bangla cameraperson Md. Abu Sayeed treasurer have been elected uncontested.
On Thursday (July 02), the election management committee made this announcement as there were equal number of candidates for the 11 posts of the executive committee including president, general secretary and treasurer on the scheduled day of the biennial election-2026.
Election management committee member Md. Hedayet Hossain Molla said that the election schedule was announced on May 16 in the executive council and June 13 in the general meeting. As per the schedule, this committee was elected uncontested after the nomination papers were submitted on June 17 and the nomination papers were withdrawn on June 19.
Other leaders of the committee are vice-presidents Amirul Islam and Mizanul Islam, joint general secretary Mamun Khan, office secretary Md. Sohel Rana, publicity and cultural secretary Topu Biswas, executive members Uttam Sarkar, Masud Khan Palash and Amjad Ali Liton.
