A tree plantation and sapling distribution program was organized by the Ziaur Rahman Foundation in Hathazari, Chittagong on the occasion of the 45th martyrdom anniversary of martyred President Ziaur Rahman Bir Uttam.
On Thursday, the chief guest at the program organized at the Research and Farm Based Campus of the Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) in Hathazari was Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, State Minister in-charge of the Ministry of Land and Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs.
In his speech as the chief guest, he said that martyred President Ziaur Rahman gave utmost importance to the welfare of marginalized people and rural development. He emphasized on extensive tree plantation and proper care of planted saplings to maintain environmental balance and combat the adverse effects of climate change.
The program was presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Ahsanul Haque Rokon, One Health Institute, Sivasu. The special guests were Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman, Vice Chancellor of Sivasu and Professor Dr. Mohammad Al Forkan, Vice Chancellor of Chittagong University.
The program, jointly hosted by Syed Munia Jilshad and Md. Shahriar Hossain Talukder, planted and distributed saplings of various species.
