Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Sunday said the BNP government will remain steadfast in its mission to rebuild Bangladesh and will not be discouraged by any challenge as long as it has the support of the people.
Speaking at an interaction with women Family Card beneficiaries in Batajor under Gournadi upazila of Barishal, the prime minister said the BNP's political strength comes from the people and pledged to continue working for the country's development.
"We want to rebuild this country and take it forward. As long as the people stand by the BNP, the government will not be deterred by any obstacle," he said, calling on citizens of all political affiliations, professions and religions to support the government's efforts.
During the programme, several Family Card beneficiaries shared their experiences, saying the initiative had helped reduce financial hardship, cover household expenses, purchase medicines and support their children's education.
Responding to their remarks, Tarique Rahman said the government was encouraged to see the programme making a positive impact on low-income families.
He said the government's goal is to gradually extend the Family Card programme to every eligible woman across the country, adding that the initiative is intended to improve women's economic security and overall quality of life.
The prime minister expressed hope that broader public support, particularly from women, would help expand the programme nationwide and contribute to meaningful social change through greater access to education and economic opportunities.
Reaffirming the government's commitment to social harmony, he said Bangladesh would continue to uphold its long-standing tradition of peaceful coexistence among people of all faiths.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon and local BNP leaders attended the event.
After the programme, the prime minister left for Barishal city to inaugurate a tree plantation campaign on the bank of the Sagardi Canal near the Thirty Godown Memorial in the Barishal City Corporation area.
