The Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (Ansar-VDP) has successfully completed the selection of trainees for its 60-day vocational training programme aimed at developing skilled manpower and expanding employment opportunities.
The training programme, scheduled to run from July 19 to September 16, 2026, will provide hands-on instruction in masonry, shuttering carpentry and steel fixing for male Ansar-VDP members.
The courses will be conducted at 10 training centres, including the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Academy in Gazipur and district offices in Manikganj, Munshiganj, Jamalpur, Noakhali, Sunamganj, Pabna, Thakurgaon, Dinajpur and Naogaon.
According to the organisation, the trainee selection process was carried out on Tuesday by committees formed by the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Headquarters under the directives of the Director General. The selection followed established guidelines to ensure transparency, fairness and merit-based evaluation.
Applicants who had previously registered through the TRGMS module of the AVMIS App and the AVJOBS Portal participated in the selection process. Candidates underwent height and weight measurements, verification of national identity cards and other required documents, as well as preliminary health examinations.
They were then required to complete an online information form through Google Docs before appearing for a viva voce examination. During the interview, assessors evaluated each candidate's qualifications, skills, interest and ability to complete the training successfully.
The organisation said the multi-stage assessment ensured that only qualified and motivated candidates were selected for the programme.
Bangladesh Ansar and VDP regularly arranges such market-oriented vocational training programmes to promote self-employment, enhance members' professional skills and improve their socio-economic conditions.
Upon completing the training, participants are expected to gain better employment opportunities in Bangladesh's construction industry while also being equipped to pursue self-employment.
The organisation also plans to facilitate overseas employment opportunities by connecting trained participants with potential employers and providing employment support services, contributing to improved livelihoods and the country's economic growth.
