The country's 12 cadet colleges have achieved remarkable results in the 2026 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations, with all 618 candidates passing and 607 securing GPA-5.
According to the results, the pass rate of the cadet colleges was 100 per cent, while the GPA-5 rate stood at 98.22 per cent.
The cadet colleges are residential educational institutions run under the direct supervision of the Cadet College Governing Council, headed by the Adjutant General of the Bangladesh Army, under the Ministry of Defence.
The institutions aim not only to ensure academic excellence but also to develop cadets into disciplined, competent and responsible citizens with leadership qualities and strong moral values.
Alongside academic education, the colleges place equal emphasis on character building, physical training and co-curricular activities. Various modern and time-befitting educational and extracurricular programmes are regularly incorporated to prepare cadets to meet the challenges of the contemporary world.
The consistent academic success of the cadet colleges is attributed to their disciplined residential environment, close supervision and guidance by experienced faculty members, and the dedication and regular study of the cadets.
The Cadet College Governing Council's effective guidance, along with the collective efforts of principals, vice-principals, teachers, officials and other employees of the institutions, has also contributed to the achievement, according to the authorities.
The cooperation of parents has also played an important role in the success, they said.
The authorities believe that the combination of academic education, discipline, character building and leadership development has helped the cadet colleges maintain their consistent performance in public examinations.
