Dhaka North City Corporation Administrator Md. Shafiqul Islam Khan paid tribute to the late Begum Khaleda Zia, a three-time former Prime Minister, BNP Chairperson and uncompromising leader of democracy, on her 82nd birth anniversary by placing flowers at her grave.
This afternoon, Dhaka North City Corporation officials led by the administrator paid tribute to Begum Khaleda Zia, who is buried next to former President Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman at Zia Udyan by placing flowers at her grave.
At this time, special prayers were offered seeking the eternal peace of the deceased's soul.
Dhaka North City Corporation Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Asaduzzaman, Chief Waste Officer Commodore Mohammad R. Humayun Kabir, Chief Engineer Brigadier General Syed Rakibul Hasan and Chief Health Officer Brigadier General Imrul Kayes Chowdhury, along with DNCC officials were present.
It is worth noting that Begum Khaleda Zia, the former Prime Minister of Bangladesh and Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), was born on August 15, 1945.
Begum Khaleda Zia died on December 30, 2025, while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka. After her death, she was buried next to the tomb of martyred President Ziaur Rahman in Zia Udyan in Dhaka.
