Bangladesh Bank Governor Md Mostaqur Rahman held a meeting with a delegation from Ansar-VDP Development Bank on Tuesday to discuss the bank’s modernisation, digital transformation and expansion of banking services for members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Force.
The meeting discussed the long-awaited ‘Sanjiban Project’, including approval of its pre-finance facility. The governor assured that necessary procedures would be completed to expedite approval of the project.
The two sides also discussed implementing a Core Banking System (CBS) and recruiting 205 employees. Steps are expected to be taken to complete the recruitment process within three months.
The meeting also discussed expanding the bank’s participation in national payment and clearing systems, including BACH, NPSB and BEFTN/EFT. These initiatives are expected to make salary payments, interbank transfers and digital banking services faster, easier and more secure for Ansar-VDP members.
Ansar and Village Defence Force Director General and Ansar-VDP Development Bank Chairman Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, Managing Director Mir Mofazzal Hossain, and Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governors Dr Kabir Ahmed and Md Sarwar Hossain attended the meeting.
