Traffic movement through the Karnaphuli Tunnel will be subject to controlled diversion for routine maintenance work from August 26 to 31, according to the Bangladesh Bridge Authority.
The maintenance operation will be carried out daily from **11:00pm to 5:00am**. During this period, traffic on the **Patenga-to-Anwara tube** will be diverted under a controlled traffic management system, while vehicle movement through the tunnel will continue.
Depending on the volume of traffic, motorists and passengers travelling in either direction may have to wait for **five to a maximum of 10 minutes** during the maintenance period.
The Bangladesh Bridge Authority has requested passengers and motorists to cooperate with the traffic management measures to ensure the safe and efficient completion of the routine maintenance work at the Karnaphuli Tunnel.
