A meeting on the modernization and digital transformation of Ansar-VDP Development Bank was held at the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party headquarters on Monday, focusing on the implementation of a Core Banking System (CBS), establishment of Disaster Recovery (DR) and Data Centre (DC) sites, and adoption of cloud-based infrastructure.
The meeting was chaired by Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, SGP, BAM, NDU, AFWC, PSC, Chairman of Ansar-VDP Development Bank. Members of the technical committee for the DR and DC sites, along with representatives of Felicity IDC and Fiber@Home Bangladesh, attended the meeting. Senior officials of the bank were also present.
Representatives of the two technology companies presented their solutions on modern data centres, cloud infrastructure, connectivity and ICT services. They expressed their readiness to provide secure, efficient and future-ready technological solutions in line with the bank’s ongoing CBS implementation and existing capabilities.
The Chairman emphasized that successful implementation of the CBS, establishment of DR and DC facilities, and adoption of cloud-based infrastructure are essential for building a reliable and technology-driven banking system. He stressed the importance of data security, business continuity, disaster recovery and uninterrupted banking services.
The meeting also discussed the adoption of cloud-based technology for the DR and DC sites in accordance with applicable Bangladesh Bank policies and guidelines. The long-awaited “Sanjiban Project” for members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party was also discussed alongside other modernization initiatives.
Officials said a strong **CBS, DR & DC and digital payment infrastructure** would provide a foundation for expanding the Sanjiban Project and delivering faster, more transparent and technology-driven financial services to Ansar-VDP members.
The initiative marks an important step toward creating a secure, modern, efficient and member-friendly banking system for the force.
