A tree plantation programme was held on the premises of Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barishal on Saturday to mark the 48th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
The programme was jointly organised by Shaheed Zia Smriti Sangsad, Barishal district and metropolitan units. The event was formally inaugurated at around 2pm.
Barishal City Corporation Administrator Advocate Bilkis Akter Jahan Shirin attended the programme as chief guest.
Hospital Director Brigadier General Dr AKM Mashiul Munir and Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Principal Professor Dr Md Anwar Hossain Bablu were present as special guests.
Doctors of the hospital, BNP leaders and activists from Barishal metropolitan and local units and its affiliated organisations, along with members of Shaheed Zia Smriti Sangsad, also attended the programme.
