Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized Indian cosmetics and an auto-rickshaw worth around Tk 450,000 in a border area of Sreebardi upazila in Sherpur.
A patrol team of Mymensingh Battalion (39 BGB) conducted the operation in Chandapara, a border area of Sreebardi, on Tuesday based on a tip-off.
According to BGB, the cosmetics had been brought into Bangladesh through smuggling routes. The auto-rickshaw allegedly used to transport the goods was also seized.
The estimated seizure value of the cosmetics and vehicle is around Tk 450,000, BGB said.
BGB said its patrols and operations along the international border areas of Mymensingh and Sherpur are continuing to prevent drug trafficking, smuggling, illegal entry and other unlawful activities.
